Follow-Up Post: Tips from InSente

When I talked to "the Galluccinator" a couple weeks ago, he told me about how to improve by sharing what he did to achieve the rank of 1 dan within a year. I spent a lot of time thinking about these and was thinking about putting these in the other post about him but decided against it because it seems very important, like its own section.

If you haven't seen the Go Profile on InSente, you can find it here. He's really a wondeful person to talk to and very inspiring so definitely check out his YouTube channel and Twitch stream.

Game Review: BenGoZen!

Hey guys!

I was honored early last week to play a game with the great Ben Hong. He said that he was about 1 kyu or 1 dan around the time that he couldn't play Go as much. Obviously, that's a lot stronger than I am haha but even so, I asked for an even game. I enjoy even games because it allows me to call out the more inherent problems with my game. He was by no means sandbagging or being mean haha, just a disclaimer!

Go Profile: InSente

Hey guys! A couple weeks ago, I had the pleasure of getting on the phone with Michael Gallucci, known as InSente on YouTube, and discussing some of the ins and outs of being a Go player, YouTuber and Twitch streamer. He has over 800 subscribers and I definitely recommend subscribing to him. I have found his content to be very helpful and educating.

Michael has currently just finished his first year in grad school for chemical engineering. One of the things he said about himself is that he likes to explore deeply, and it's exciting for him to find something new and learn all the little details about it. I found that quite interesting because I'm pretty much the same way. In talking to him, I realized that he's very much a friendly person and easy to talk to, and as a result, communicates his content extremely well in his videos. Another thing I noticed about him is that his thoughts are very articulated which I would accredit to his deep sense of thought and understanding.

Announcing Game Sprees!

A game spree. This is a bit of an innovation on my part through lack of resources for an actual Go stream. Of course, I'm not at a level at which an actual Go stream would be useful or entertaining for too many players so this is something I'm kind of doing for myself, and for your entertainment haha.

Essentially, my goal here is to just play as many games as I can at a good level of concentration and ability while live commenting on it, as would a Go streamer. I experimented with it a bit last night and it seemed to work out (kinda) great!
